You’ve seen the specs for the two phones above. But that doesn’t immediately tell you which one is technically superior. Here’s how this HTC One vs. Google Nexus 4 fight plays out…

HTC One vs. Google Nexus 4 – Connectivity

The One is a 3G/HSDPA phone with added NFC, 802.11a/ac/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP. 4G connectivity is also supported. In comparison, the Nexus 4 features NFC, 3G/HSDPA, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi And Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP. No 4G in this model though.

HTC One vs. Google Nexus 4 – Size/Weight

Get the spec sheets out and we can compare sizes. The Nexus 4 is slightly skinnier than the One with a chassis that’s only 9.1mm thick. The Nexus 4 is wider, measuring 68.7mm to the One’s 68.2mm. The One weighs 143g, whereas the Nexus 4 is 4 lighter and weighs 139g.

The One’s 4.0 Megapixel camera features: Ultrapixel image sensor, autofocus, LED flash, simultaneous HD video/image recording, face detection, geo-tagging and 1080p video recording. There’s also a 2.1MP front camera for video chat.

The Google Nexus 4 beats its opponent on paper with a higher-spec 8.0 Megapixel camera, which also includes autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and 1080p video recording. A second 1.3MP camera on the front can be used for video calling.

HTC One vs. Google Nexus 4 – Display

As for screen size, the HTC One features a 4.7-inch (1080 x 1920) touch-sensitive Super LCD3 display. The resulting pixel density of this handset is a superb 468.723 pixels per inch.

The Nexus 4′s touch-sensitive True HD IPS display is the same size. Its 768 x 1280 pixel resolution loses out to the One’s display. The pixel density of 317.66 pixels per inch here is less than the 468.723 rating given to the One.

As for overall processing performance, the One’s chip is a 1.7GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600, while the Nexus 4 uses a quad core Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon processor, clocked at 1.5GHz.

As the specs show, the top-end HTC One model features 64GB of internal storage, while the highest Nexus 4 features only 16GB. Without an expansion slot on the One, 64GB is the maximum amount of storage available. The Nexus 4 is also missing an expansion slot and so the max storage options remains 16GB.
