You’ve seen the specs for the two phones above. But that doesn’t immediately tell you which one is technically superior. Here’s how this HTC One vs. HTC One X+ fight plays out…

HTC One vs. HTC One X+ – Connectivity

HTC One vs. HTC One X+ – Size/Weight

Modern phones are hardly fat and frumpy these days. There’s not much of a gap between the two HTC phones – the new One is 137.4 x 68.2 x 9.3mm; while the One X+ is 134.4 x 69.9 x 8.9mm. Overall, the One X+ is slightly smaller, at least in terms of volume. The One also carries more weight than the One X+. Compare the two and HTC’s flagship phone is 143g while the One X+ is 135g. The One X+ just takes it and hits the front going into the next round.

According to HTC, the 4.0 Megapixel camera on the One has a new Ultrapixel CCD that is is just as good (if not better) than the 8.0MP snapper on the One X+.

The design of HTC’s One features a 4.7-inch touch-sensitive Super LCD3 screen, with a resolution of 1080 by 1920 pixels. There are 2073600 pixels overall, which translates to a superb 468.723 pixels per inch.

In terms of size, the One X+’s touch-sensitive Super LCD2 screen is identical. It boasts a poorer screen resolution – 720 by 1280 pixels. The pixel density of 312.553 pixels per inch here is less than the 468.723 rating given to the One.

The spec sheets show that the HTC One is powered by a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, clocked at 1.7GHz. The One X+ has a 1.7GHz quad core NVIDIA Tegra 3 chip.

The HTC One wins this match-up. But it’s a close one. In technical terms, the key features are the 1080 x 1920 pixel display the superior Snapdragon processor. If we had a ‘design’ round the HTC One might also take that too.
