You’ve seen the specs for the two phones above. But that doesn’t immediately tell you which one is technically superior. Here’s how this HTC One vs. LG Optimus G Pro fight plays out…

HTC One vs. LG Optimus G Pro – Connectivity

The spec sheet of the One lists NFC, 3G/HSDPA, 802.11a/ac/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP as the core connectivity options. Data downloads will zip over 4G (if your network supports it). As for the Optimus G Pro, LG has built it with NFC, 3G/HSDPA, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi as standard. There’s also 4G connectivity where available.

HTC One vs. LG Optimus G Pro – Size/Weight

Run the numbers on these two phones and we get the following. The One is the slimmer of the two phones with a depth of 9.3mm. The Optimus G Pro is wider, measuring 76.1mm to the One’s 68.2mm. Neither the Optimus G Pro or the One is unwieldy. The former weighs 160g; the latter weighs a mere 143g. The One has the early advantage in this fight.

HTC has opted for a 4.0 Megapixel camera in its phone, which boasts an Ultrapixel image sensor with 8.0MP performance, autofocus, LED flash, simultaneous HD video/image recording, face detection, geo-tagging and 1080p video recording. There’s also a 2.1MP front camera.

The Optimus G Pro beats its opponent for raw Megapixels with an improved 13.0 Megapixel lens with a maximum resolution of 4208 x 3120 pixels, plus autofocus, touch focus, image stabilization, face detection, geo-tagging, dual recording, a VR panorama mode and 1080p video recording. An extra camera on the front is designed for video calling. The resolution is 2.1MP.

HTC One vs. LG Optimus G Pro – Display

HTC has built the One with a 4.7-inch touch-sensitive display. The Super LCD3 screen has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The pixels per inch (PPI) measurement here is a brilliant 468.723.

In comparison, the Optimus G Pro’s touch-sensitive Full HD-IPS LCD screen is a massive and unwieldy 5.5 inches wide. The resolution is also identical. With 2073600 pixels onscreen, the pixel density is a terrific 400.545 pixels per inch. But the One still beats it.
