Motorola DROID X2 vs. HTC Desire HD – Review

We’re big fans of the HTC Desire HD, although it’s recently dropped down in our league table of the Top 20 best smartphones, eclipsed by faster dual-core handsets. So along comes the new Motorola DROID X2 with a whole raft of improvements including an NVIDIA processor and a superb qHD display.

Stat-fight: Motorola DROID X2 vs. HTC Desire HD

So How do the two combatants measure up? The good-looking Desire HD is slightly fatter than the DROID X2 with dimensions of 11.8mm versus 9.9mm. The Desire HD is also broader, measuring 68.0mm to the DROID X2′s 65.5mm waistline. Both phones are quite hefty, however. The Motorola DROID X2 weighs 155g, while the Desire HD is a pocket-bulging 164g.

As for the screen technology, the DROID X2 features a 4.3-inch touch-sensitive LCD display with a dazzling resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The screen has 518400 pixels in total, giving it a rating of 256.047 pixels per inch.

The Desire HD’s touch-sensitive S-LCD screen is an identical size. Unfortunately, it boasts a lower resolution (only 480 x 800 pixels) than the newer DROID X2. With 384000 pixels onscreen, the pixel density is 216.977 pixels per inch.
