Key info: There’s another new fighter in town. The new Nokia Lumia 620 includes a 3.8-inch, 480 x 800 pixel LCD display, a 5.0 megapixel camera, 8GB of storage, and a 1GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. The operating system is Windows Phone 8.
The Lumia 620 is the latest Windows phone from the Nokia stable, following handsets like the flagship Nokia Lumia 920. How do the two compare? Glad you asked. The Lumia 620 is certainly not as powerful or as capable. It boasts a smaller display than the 4.5-inch Lumia 920, a lesser 1GHz processor, and a lower resolution camera.
Potential: It’s not as high-end as the leading smartphones and it’s no threat to leading-edge handsets. If we have to pick a competitor, the rival Sony Xperia J is a closer fit. This boasts a 4.0-inch, 480 x 854 pixel LCD display, 5.0MP camera and a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A Snapdragon processor.
Release date: The Nokia Lumia 620 will be available in Q1 2013. From our perspective it looks like a decent, if unspectacular, Windows phone, broadening Nokia’s range to try and get Microsoft’s OS into more pockets.
