Good wireless connectivity is vital. The Lumia 1020 features NFC, 3G/HSDPA, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP. It also has 4G. Nokia, meanwhile, packed the 920 with tech that includes NFC, 3G/HSDPA, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.1 with A2DP and EDR. You also get 4G as standard.

As for size and weight, let’s look at the numbers. The Lumia 1020 measures 130.4 x 71.4 x 10.4mm, while the Lumia 920 is 130.3 x 70.8 x 10.7mm. The Lumia 1020 is the lengthier of the two phones by a tiny margin. There’s a real difference in weight, however. The Nokia Lumia 1020 weighs 158g, while the Lumia 920 is 185g. The Lumia 1020 is now in pole position after this round.

Nokia has built the Lumia 1020 with a 41.0 Megapixel camera that boasts Carl Zeiss optics, PureView technology, auto focus, touch focus, Xenon and LED flash, face detection, geo-tagging, image stabilization, dual capture, panorama and 1080p video recording. For video calls, there’s also a second, front-mounted camera rated at 1.2 Megapixels.

Despite its autofocus, dual LED flash, Carl Zeiss optics, the same PureView technology, touch focus, image stabilization and 1080p video recording, the Lumia 920′s 8.0 Megapixel package loses out in this round. A second 1.3MP camera on the front can be used for video calling.

With 983040 pixels onscreen, the pixel density of the display is a big league 331.778 pixels per inch.
