Hello Nokia N9. Your combination of some decent hardware and the MeeGo OS is akin to a sports car fitted with wheels pinched from a shopping trolley. You look good from a distance but your handling is terrible.
Put the N9 into the ring with the iPhone 4 and you’d expect the Apple phone to trounce the Nokia handset. But this fight might surprise you.

Stat-fight: Nokia N9 vs. Apple iPhone 4
The N9 incorporates a touch-sensitive AMOLED display, 3.9 inches across and with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. Packing 409920 pixels into this 3.9-inch screen results in a pixel density of 251.282 pixels per inch (PPI). Not bad.
In contrast, the 3.5-inch touch-sensitive LCD display on Apple’s phone is smaller. But the 640 x 960 resolution of the Retina display is considerably better. The pixels per inch (PPI) rating of this screen is 329.714.
As for the operating systems, the N9 runs Nokia’s own MeeGo 1.2, which has been cruelly sidelined since the ailing phone giant decided to embrace Windows Phone 7. It goes up against Apple’s iOS, which offers the best array of downloadable apps on the planet. And when iOS 4 gives way to iOS 5 later this year, the gap will get even wider. Don’t expect the N9 to win the Software round.
